Rachel Louise Brown’s approach to photography is original and astonishing. Observing the world as a stage, Rachel’s practice starts to question construction of imagery around the themes of fear, gender, class and escapism.
She is fascinated by the way in which myth and expectation are woven into image making, pulling on references from mystery & film noir and creating work to further bring this into our reality.
Each scene has an eerie sense of familiarity, but through her heightened visual approach, we as viewers are pulled by this and are left with the understanding that not everything is quite as it seems.
