PETER FUNCH
[EMEIS DEUBEL]
Peter, who studied photo journalism in Denmark, sees photography as a tool for satisfying a deep curiosity about the world around him. He likes the reliability and trustworthiness of working in a documentary style.
Take his award-winning “42nd and Vanderbilt” series: For this, Peter photographed a New York street corner again and again over the course of nine years. Using an almost scientific approach, he was able to capture how, with the passage of time, anonymous individuals subtly aged and changed.
Peter’s reportage “BABEL TALES” is nominated in the REPORTAGE category.
