David has developed a genre he calls WESTERN NOIR, which he has explored in his three monographs: Cerro Gordo, The Days Change at Night, and Candy Mountain, which was published last month. “We look for a place within us that gets lost over time. Sometimes we awake and find it. A place where bodies levitate, horses run wild, and we ride into the perfect sunset.”
